Principles and Values of Mentally Tough People

Integrity: Integrity is not just telling the truth. Its about how you maintain your values and principle even when no one is looking.

Self-Discipline: Resist the easy option. Much like integrity Self-Discipline is easy to resist when isolated. Its about doing what you have to do when you have to do it. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Your Why
Understanding your why is critical. Write it down and revisit your why and remember why you are working towards your goals and success. Don’t settle for nothing less than achieving your success.

Fifteen Minute Subconscious Mind Exercise
Find a place you can meditate with no interruptions, no phone.
Tonight go through what you said to yourself that day. Go through all of it. Make sure that going forward, you only tell yourself what you want to be your reality. Remove anything that uses the word “don’t” and increase the times that you tell yourself what you want to see in your future. Your subconscious mind is a Beast! Use if for good!
Visualization
Before you practice or play a game listen to the script below, visualize your success wither at home or on the ride to the game. Here are the steps that you should follow to have the most effective visualization practice.

Arrive early to the event so that you can get your mind familiar with the environment.

Find a quiet space before the game or practice.

Create the whole game or practice in your mind.

See yourself performing successfully in your position, doing everything that you need to do to succeed.

Goals
Write down and revisit your goals daily and ask yourself what you need to do to accomplish them on a daily basis. Celebrate your wins and hold yourself accountable for your losses.
Engraving Technique
Dedicate 15 minutes of your time every day to engrave a skill that is relevant to your position. While you are watching, it is important to imaging what it feels like to do the skill. See yourself performing the skill with success.
Five Minute Meditation Exercise

Find a quiet place.

Imagine yourself sitting on the banks of a calming flowing river.

As you sit there, quiet your mind.

Any and every thought that comes into your mind, and there will be many at first, attach them to a log and let it flow down the river.

The goal is not to have an empty river, but to have fewer logs floating down the river than you did when you started. No logs are mastery level stuff!

Set a timer and do this one a daily basis.

You can use meditation to achieve clarity of mind.

You can visualize immediately after meditation.

You can use mediation to achieve the zone.
The zone is a state where you have a sense of control, clear goals and a lack of self-awareness. When you are in the zone, you lose tough with the real world because you are in your own world, a world without distractions. In the zone the only thing that matters is what you are doing right then. Playing Small
Finding ways to make your practice more difficult by making objects in your sport smaller. Find ways to make the objects in the game smaller during practice and watch your skill level shoot through the roof.
Practice Slower

The key to learning a skill is taking it slowly and doing it repeatedly until it becomes part of the subconscious mind. This will help you do it right and so repeat over and over again.

When you learn a skill at the subconscious level, you can do it very quickly, even in very stressful conditions, the ones you experience when you complete.

If you flood your brain with signals, the brain will not be able to pick up subtle details that come be used to improve your game.​​​
